the challenge

Dubai was one of the five cities making a bid for the World Expo 2020 in november 2011


Dubai’s bid committee required a social media management solution to monitor and collect data, sentiment,and overall ratings for its own bid as well as that of its competitor cities

the solution required, also needed to provide text mining and general web observer capabilities to provide the bid committee with intelligence in regards to the competitor cities infrastructure, capabilities, financial positioning, etc

the solution

to support winning the bid of hosting World Expo 2020 in Dubai, the bid committee appointed Mr. Bargmann, a Munich based trade fair organizer to support the UAE in its efforts


Cogia Intelligence was the chosen social media monitoring application to support the bid 

with its web and social media monitoring software Web Observer 3.0 


Cogia Intelligence provided the UAE bid committee with the comprehensive information, especially concerning the activities of the other cities-competitors

the results

Dubai won the bid for EXPO 2020 and the data collected and provided by Cogia Intelligence was one of the many building blocks that made Dubai stand out from its competitors
