the challenge

as one of the oldest banking institutions of Dubai, cbd is also one of the longest standing customers in the region utilizing kofax enterprise capture for branch scanning

 

cbd is utilizing kofax across all its branches to scan all incoming paper documents on a daily basis including application forms for the different banking services offered

 

branch scanned documents are being transferred electronically and released to microsoft sharepoint for further processing

as the kofax application is classified as business critical for the bank, an upgrade to the application and its server infrastructure has to be achieved without downtime

 

this was the scenario when cbd planned to undertake the up-gradation from kofax version 10 to version 11

over the decades, CBD has transformed into a progressive and modern banking institution

the solution

cbd chose omnix international to project manage the upgrade and oryx to deliver the upgrade including all required testing and release preparation

 

the initial engagement was to conduct a system wide health check to verify that available hardware and OS system components were able to facilitate kofax version 11 system requirements and running the latest patches, hot fixes and service packs

 

subsequently oryx setup the required system components, migrated existing document sets and batch classes and setup the new production environment including the updated release connector from kofax to microsoft sharepoint

in cooperation with cbd technical and end user resources the new application was thoroughly tested and finally rolled-out to all cbd branches without operational disruption 

the entire upgrade was delivered within 15 business days

the results

today cbd branches are fully operating on the kofax version 11 platform thus utilizing the new functionality kofax is providing with its major new release of version 11
